It's funny, I had put radio so far out of my mind and was pretty much only applying to TV news stations and video editing jobs. Shows like this one (and a few others where I heard horror stories) made me think it wasn't the right direction and I was convinced TV/video was the way to go.

The day I got the "hey, the other person bailed to Florida, are you interested?" call for the weekends I had gone for an interview at Time Warner Cable News where I had fucking interned. They never did me the courtesy of calling me back so things probably worked out well in retrospect.

First day I show up for paperwork and such, I'm headed down the road to park in one of the public lots in the city and two guys were fighting and it spilled out into the street.

I had to go the wrong way down a one way street to get the fuck away from them. Perfect introduction to the shitty neighborhood.
