Rick, you're so full of shit, it is the opposite if anything. They are WAAAAAAYYYY too lenient on pit bulls. Thats why the shelters are 95% fucking full with the things...

Too many assholes with them and not enough purging of the species when they do act up.

Wanted to get a rescue dog for my daughter and I've been to multiple shelters in multiple counties over the last 6 months, its either little tiny shit eaters or pit bulls. No fucking thankyou.

If you're looking for a family dog, a companion for the next 10-15 years. Do yourself a service and do some research and pay good money for a healthy dog with good pedigree..

I had a white trash neighbor down the block who's pit got out and mauled a small dog another neighbor was walking (yes, it was leashed) and they went to court, and the guy had to pay the damages to replace the dead dog and take his dog to basically the dog equivellant to an anger management class. Big shocker here, but he skipped town and never paid the judgment to the woman.

If I were going to go that route I would get another Rott, raised those as a kid, amazing dogs. I just wanted to help a needy dog out, and get a decent dog for my daughter. I'm not above a mixed breed or anything, but I am not really a fan of having my 5 year old around a pit bull puppy either.

edit: Definitely agree on the money too, it is worth it to pay a little change for a papered rottweiler or other dog breed.
