John Carter was a hell of a film. Great cast, good special fx and a solid director at the helm. Disney's marketing department royally fucked it up.

With Disney owning Lucasfilm, they've guaranteed their success for as long as movies are made.

Consider this - now Marvel and Star Wars are both in Disney's pocket.
