Shit...the trail camera by one of our stands hasn't seen a deer in a week either. Weather is so nice that the food is plentiful. We need a foot of snow but...this is just fine the way it is. Still in the 40's.

Dan loves to eat. When we were down there he ate the entire time we were in studio.

COLUMBUS >> State officials say good weather last week have helped the deer harvest eclipse last year’s total during the week-long gun season.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources said Monday that 73,399 deer were checked in the state during the annual seven-day gun season that ended Sunday.

That’s nearly a 9-percent increase over the 65,484 checked last year, and just below the 75,408 taken in 2013.

Hell yeah...weather was great for getting outside. Many more hours spent hunting than normal. Rifle hunting has it's benefits for sure. Can't make drives and get the deer moving with a bow.

Can't use a rifle in Ohio. Shotgun with slugs.
