Yeah, see what you mean. Bubbs has a penchant for interpreting a disastrous event (losing Tampa) as being everyone else's fault. And he is in a mode of fixing all the deficiencies he can think of (We're gonna do this...I'm gonna do that.)

That being said, the telethon/help me out gambit is a work. He knows some listeners will react adversely to such an absurd idea. Bubbs likes to superserve that pathetic image to the haters, especially those who listen. Not a bad premise for content, actually.

The main thing I get out of his comments so far is that he is unaware, stubbornly so, that all of the weak and failing components of the show and its marketing are his responsibility. He is transparent about his denial.
