I can say knowing that this could be Chippers last game sucks. He's probably the first athlete retiring that I can say honestly it won't be the same without him. The last remaining piece of the great Braves team of the 90's.
But it also helps that I grew up in the same area. His father was my 9th grade math teacher and high school baseball coach. The longest home run I ever gave up was in an alumni baseball game when he went about 500 feet the other direction on a hanging curve ball. Sucks that he won't get that 3,000 hit or 500 home runs but I still think he's a first ballot Hall of Fame inductee Sorry about the long post but it sucks to see the good ones go. |
