I still don't, have you priced out what it costs to go college for four years? These kids know the deal and are given what is needed to get them through school. Paying them is bullshit.

what if your company started a football team, but if you play, you just get paid your regular salary AND have to still finish your regular work. On top of that your company is making money every game you play and not giving you a dime.

I see what you're trying to get at, but put it like this. You love playing football and someone is going to pay you (via an education) that would otherwise cost you possibly six figures. Do you wanna not play because you're not making money?

you're implying all of those kids are on scholarships...

10 years ago I would agree with you cpt, but since the colleges have turned it into a business I think they should be forced to share the profits with those that created it.

Put it this way - you're in art school, you do a drawing and the school sells it for a fortune and you don't see a dime of it.. you still want to draw for them?

No all are not on scholarship, that is true, so they are actually paying to play. Weird huh? Oh and college football and to some extent basketball literally fund all the other sports in college because they all lose money. With that being said I hope my daughter will get a soccer scholarship when its time
