The CRTC required a certain percentage of music on stations to be Canadian in origin correct?

The Cancon is one thing Chob, and it still exists. In 1971 the CRTC started this stupid bullshit Cancon rule(35%Canadian content, according to MAPL [google it] ), and in addition, they made this rule that "hits" could not be played on FM...as in CHR. They only lifted this assinine rule in the last year or so, allowing Canadians to listen to "oldies" on FM. We couldn't do it until recently. How fucked up is that?
