In cases like that, the whole question of religion vs. ethnicity is kind of hard to separate. There are people that convert, vs. the group of Jews with a similar ethic background.

Funny how often people tend to lump ethnic groups and people belonging to the same religion together.

While my fucking car was being worked on I could be ripped off a few hundred bucks , I read a Time magazine article about Arab Americans starting businesses in the Detroit area and while it's considered by a lot of people a dying city, Arab Americans see it as a land of opportunity. Anyway the article goes on to mention how the majority of them are Christian, and how a lot of Catholic Arabs fled there from Iraq to escape religious persecution. Just goes to show you can't always make assumptions about a group's religious beliefs.
