OK, here's how I'd solve this. Have one public party for fans, have one private party for business associates/friends and don't mention anything about the second one on air.

He can't decide whether he wants it to be a private party or a fan gathering. And he's right, he's very accessible to fans at times and it bites him in the ass. He needs to learn how to manage both social circles more effectively.
