I kind of agree, but the Bubba way involves jumping on board with some jobbers, kick starting their success, and taking the credit and always rubbing it in their faces afterwards. Except io which wasn't a success by any measure.

Beasley probably offered him the chance to brand a station in his image like Manson's bit joked about. You know, io but with competent people at the helm.

The Beasleys knew he wants the suits to tell him how brilliant he is and take his programming advice. And that's how they were able to grab him without having iHeart's resources.

I have to wonder when his current deal is up with io because he won't be able to ditch them fast enough if the Beasleys are offering him all this input.

Oh I still don't believe it, just sounded good and I 100% agree with your statement. The reason he went with Beasley is they're giving him the entire station and more than likely renaming it WBTLS or something to that effect. His ego couldn't pass up that kind of meglomania.
