Actually, they gave him props, said he was one of the best parts of the show, and said that he doesn't get the credit he deserves. Ruining his long running act might have put it over the edge though.

Cowhead did minimalize him by saying "What are you gonna do? Write a parody song about me?" He also said in a roundabout way Manson is an asskisser and is only hanging on for the paycheck. Oh yeah and the Ned outing was probably the final straw.
