It's not a true M4, they are three round burst/semi where as mine is semi-auto only. The size and weight is the same though. My wife picked mine up gently used for 650.00 from our local gun shop, check out gunbroker dot com if you find a deal you like you can have it transferred to a local shop for a nominal fee.

I was never military but I learned to strip that thing down and clean it right,got me a good price when I sold it back to the gun shop

It's not illegal to own a full auto, you just have to pay the price of the gun (usually very high) plus the NFA stamp & paperwork fees(about a 6 month wait) and its yours.
