NEW YORK, Nov 5 (Reuters) - Sirius XM (SIRI.O) posted a smaller quarterly loss, helped by rate increases and the success of premium programming on its pay-radio service, and expects to see subscribers and revenue growth in 2010.
Sirius's third-quarter net loss was $149 million or 4 cents a share, from a loss of $4.88 billion, or $1.93 a share, a year earlier. The 2008 loss included a large charge related to goodwill. Analysts were looking for a loss of share of 2 cents for the quarter, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S. Revenue rose 3 percent to $629.6 million, beating Wall Street average expectations of $608.7 million. http://www.reuters.com/article/marke...0091105?rpc=44 |

So I just heard Howard say that he hates regular radio when he hears commercials - he changes the station - so I'm assuming he never listens to his own channels then? Cause if he did he would have to change them. He also said he listens to satellite radio 99% of the time - so again - he obviously doesn't listen to the talk stations
On my local stations they guarantee commercials be no longer then 2 minutes... so what the fuck is with Sirius's 5 minute advertising extravaganza's? How are they leading this revolution again? just by saying cock and cunt? gonna need a bit more then that I think... |

Is that it? Man I'm so disconnected from local radio since getting sirius. And I grew up on the Q |

seriously, you really think 5 minutes is THAT horrible??
I remember with GREAT clarity the 20 plus minutes of commercials when I was listening in LA (during the '90's). I could schedule my shower during a break and never miss the show. THAT was reGodDamDickUlous |

I have to say, I got pissed at the amount of commercials when Bubba was only doing shows on Sirius and had to go to break every 40 minutes or so.
Now when hearing the show live it makes me long for those days again. |

Why is it on the talk but not music? Talk radio isn't important enough for commercial free? no it's cause people will pay superbowl prices to advertise with Howard, even though I bet Sirius gets most the dough.. Just my two cents... I hate commercials with a passion and am for their extinction - can't remember that last useful commercial that made me buy something or actually informed me of something... plus sirius has the worst commercial content going... |

the mighty Q - with your washed up hosts like Kim mitchell and Alice Cooper which is just syndicated from somewhere else I think... Also Edge 102.1 has the two minute commercial deal and I think some of the "office" type formats have gone that way |

NEW YORK (CBS) Porn star Janine Lindemulder, who has been fighting a custody battle with her ex-husband, reality television star Jesse James, and his current wife, Sandra Bullock, lost another round Monday when a California court denied her request for "expanded visitation rights," according to the Los Angeles Times.

Anyone else think Artie may not come in at all and start the holiday break early?
I wonder if there's something in his contract that lets them renegotiate to let him out early. |
