Are You RadioIO ready?

so who's planning on switching from sirius to RadioIO this coming january?

I'm gonna be getting the 90 day free trial but honestly I don't know if I can convince myself to cough up that much cash just for one show.

I will be keeping my sirius (as I got it free for a whole year - eat a dick IO) and I won't have the need for music - plus with youtube, grooveshark ETC ETC who the fuck NEEDS a subscription music service on the internet? NO ONE IMO.

RadioIO has JUST started to offer a talk category - in fact as of writing this it might just be a category with no content. So other then Bubba - WTF do they have to offer for talk?

So what say you guys? Who's chuggin some kool aid?

Well, if it gets included in my Raw sub, I will keep it. Not sure yet if I am going to dump my Sirius. It is nice to have in the vehicle and I know my wife wants to keep her Stiletto.

yep - same boat I'm in - I didn't buy sirius for my house - I bought it for the car and RadioIO isn't in my car - nor will it be anytime soon in canada as we don't have huge free wifi zones...

and to buy another car stereo that would take a usb stick would easily cost me $300... fuck that

Well my stereo takes USB sticks, and an aux deal, but shit, I aint gonna be doing all that just to listen to sumthin. I have one USB with tunes on it, but that is about it.

I'll be dumping Sirius in January if I can't get Bubba in the Van. I'm in(and out of) the fuckin truck ALL FUCKING DAY. There's no way I'm gonna pay for Sirius for just the music channels. $30. now for 2 radios. I guess it's time to welcome back Christine Magee. "Why buy a mattress anywhere else?"

the way I understand it -

you will get a download of the podcast with your sub for bubba raw. Probably low quality knowing bubba.

RadioIO offers a plethora of different options - I think there's a 5.99 sub, and then it goes up from there depending on the "tier" you choose and the quality of stream you want. Apparently radio IO offers streams in low quality right up to 192k (almost cd quality - and fuck you sirius for making such claims you liar motherfuckers)

Seein' as it's a talkin' show I don't really care too much about sound quality. I have a nice set of speakers, so even when it sounds like shit, it sounds good. I think I'll sign up for raw, but I'll wait 'til the last second...just like sirius

you need a computer

you need an internet connection

you need a wireless router so you can tucker and listen

you need speakers

you need a soundcard

you need a usb stick to transfer these fucking things to another computer.

you need paypal or a credit card as well to subscribe and a valid address

I'm done with Sirius, no matter what. I don't need it for music. I'll miss Howie somewhat. I'm signing for IO. I'll have to wait 'til Mar 1 to do it for a year, I can't afford the 3 year deal, but it's a better deal for me.

my other option is an ipod.... but I find them clumsy as fuck to change while driving...

I like in dash units when possible
