Yup. Simply because he asked Lucas for it. Some of the Expanded Universe material gave him a canon reason for it. One of the games had an orange saber and I think it looked good.

Rumors have him, and I'll put it in spoiler tags in case it's true, being a recruit that has his TIE Fighter shot down, and he potentially deserts the Empire when he sees them torching a village. In the trailer, you see him running from scavengers looking to junk his ship for parts when Daisy Ridley's character shows up to save his ass.

Also, as a geek, I love the fact Daisy Ridley has a name made of the names of two Nintendo characters.

And if anyone wants potential spoilers, go to MakingStarWars.net. They do a good job of separating good leads from bullshit.

One of the Lucasfilm people said that it was going to debut on iTunes Trailers at 10:15 a.m. EST. It actually came out a bit early which was cool. I was lucky enough to catch that bit of info so I wasn't obsessively refreshing at midnight.

I have many flaws, but sticking to my word isn't one of them. He brought home straight As, so I bought him the Elgato HD Game Capture. He seems to enjoy it, but not nearly as much as I enjoy having an exceptional student for a son (as I was far from one myself). Thanks for asking!
