IO World Media, owner of RadioIO, the online home of Bubba The Love Sponge, saw its first quarter revenue grow 61.4 percent. The first quarter results for 2011 doesn't even fully include revenue generated by Bubba's presence on RadioIO. A February promotion raised almost $1 million in discounted subscriptions, but the money will be spread out across the three years of the subscriptions. For Q1, IO World Media revenue reached $293,000, though it also took a net loss of $248,000. “We are pleased with our results from operation in the first quarter due to the fact that we have seen a significant increase in revenue from both subscription and advertising sales," stated Thomas Bean, CEO of IO World Media. "Further, we have worked diligently to control cost while continuing to improve not only the products that we deliver but our delivery platform as well."
